Giclees
We have been reproducing fine art for over twenty
years. Before the advent of Giclee
reproduction utilizing digital technology, we made use
of large format transparency
film.In those days, we would vary exposure and
processing to achieve optimal contrast.
With our current state of the art digital equipment,
our multi-layered approach to Giclee
is very similar. We start with the best available full
spectrum, daylight balanced lighting
system. This enables us to capture the true values of
your pigments, whether oil,
acrylic, or watercolor. We photograph your original art
on our horizontal process
camera, making use of the apochromatic process lens,
and accurate laser alignment.
On this traditional process camera, we have mounted our
BetterLight digital camera
back. With this system we’re able to pin point the
exposure and vary the contrast to
precisely match the requirements of your original.
After the high resolution capture, we
apply color profiling and then proof with full gamut
Epson Ultra Chrome K3 pigmented
inks. With this system you get both accurate rich
color, and pigmented inks that are
archivally sound! Call us today for further information
or to discuss your project!
